Special Issue Information

Dear colleagues,

This Special Issue aims to investigate the role of sound within the Plant Kingdom, with particular emphasis on the acoustic stimuli perceived by plants (both natural and artificial), their ability to produce acoustic vibrations, and how these stimuli influence their interactions with the environment, their surroundings, and other living organisms in nature. The issue seeks to advance the understanding of the ecological and evolutionary significance of sound in plants, highlighting the potential impact on plant behavior, communication and adaptation.

We invite contributions that explore every aspect of sound/vibration perception/production in plants. Submission investigating the role of acoustic and vibrational signals in plant communication (both intra- and interspecific, including interactions with insects, mammals, microorganisms, and other organisms) are particularly encouraged.
