Special Issue Information
Dear colleagues,
Visual servoing leverages visual feedback to achieve closed-loop control by establishing a mathematical relationship between changes in image features and robot motion. It is widely applied in fields such as robot navigation, autonomous driving, drone tracking, and industrial automation. At its core, visual servoing involves the coupling of perception, modeling, and control. Despite its broad applicability, significant technical challenges remain in practical implementations. These challenges include control loop delays introduced by deep learning-based visual processing, loss of feature points due to target occlusion, lighting variations, and motion blur, all of which compromise tracking robustness. Furthermore, inaccuracies in camera calibration or in the mathematical modeling of robot kinematics and dynamics can severely affect system performance.
This special issue seeks high-quality original contributions that explore theoretical innovations, algorithmic developments, and practical implementations. Topics of interest include, but are not limited to:
(1)Optimal Control and Differential Equation Modeling in Visual Servoing;
(2)Robustness and Real-Time Performance Enhancement in Dynamic Target Tracking via Differential Systems;
(3)Multi-Sensor Fusion and Mathematical Modeling for Visual Servo Systems;
(4)Industrial Applications of Visual Servoing under Mathematical and Control Frameworks;
(5)Visual Servoing in Autonomous Driving and Drones;
(6)Deep Learning-Enhanced Visual Servoing
By bringing together contributions from control theory, artificial intelligence, and computer vision, this Special Issue aims to foster interdisciplinary collaboration and provide a comprehensive overview of current trends and future directions in visual servo control research.
