Special Issue Information

Dear colleagues,

We are seeking entries for our special issue, which will highlight creative ways that sensor networks might improve communication through sound and vibration. The purpose of this issue is to examine state-of-the-art research and technological developments that use vibratory and acoustic signals to enhance data transmission, energy efficiency, and network resilience in a variety of applications, such as smart infrastructure, industrial Internet of things, and environmental monitoring etc.

Traditional wireless communication techniques confront issues with energy efficiency, interference, and dependability as sensor networks develop particularly in complex environments. Using vibration and sound as other forms of communication presents a viable way to overcome these obstacles and open up new possibilities in situations when traditional approaches are insufficient. The goal of this special issue is to investigate novel methods for improving sensor network communication through the use of sound and vibrations in wireless communication.
