Dear Colleagues,

The significance of social psychology in the digital era persists. Social psychology contributes a vital scientific groundwork for scholarly investigations, organizational administration, and business conduct analysis through its examination of individual and collective behavior, as well as the operational mechanisms of institutions. The integration of various disciplines, such as computer science, data science, and neuroscience, has introduced novel methodologies that have revolutionized the conventional research paradigm within social psychology. The increasing integration of various disciplines has significantly impacted social psychology research, leading to a transformation of the traditional research paradigm. Disciplines such as computer science, data science, and neuroscience have played a crucial role in fostering the advancement of social psychology research. Moreover, the emergence of novel methods, including artificial intelligence, big data statistics, and multi-source heterogeneous data mining, has further contributed to the innovation within the field. Consequently, social psychology must now prioritize new scenarios, new methods, and new theories in order to adapt to the evolving landscape. In light of emerging fields like artificial intelligence, big data statistics, and multi-source heterogeneous data mining, it is imperative for social psychology to redirect its attention towards novel scenarios, methodologies, and theoretical frameworks. This entails incorporating multidisciplinary theories, models, and methodologies, while delving into the underlying mechanisms and ramifications.

The main objective of this section is to play a leading role in establishing “Social Psychology” as an important discipline within "Applied Psychology". However, considering its interdisciplinary structure and potential impact on scientific and technological development in almost all fields of social sciences, the goal of the section is to publish research articles/reviews supporting the theoretical and methodological advancement of “Social Psychology”, especially, social interaction on social media, big data analysis in social behavior study, social psychology and consumer behavior, social psychology and e-commerce (e.g. live streaming, multimedia impacts, cross-channel marketing and so on), group decision mechanism, cross-culture effects, and other areas that reflects the development trend of social psychology.
